"Disappointing "

I booked a table well in advance of my fiancés birthday on 20th August.
We were first told by our waiter that there was no sirloin steak available (my partners first choice) then to be told by a waitress that it actually was available. I’m pescatarian and wanted the sea bass but was informed that that too was unavailable which was disappointing. When it came to ordering our desserts, I asked for the only vegan option (other than dairy-free ice cream) a Bakewell, and my partner wanted the chocolate blondie - neither of these were available either! While I understand that there may be issues in supplying some dishes, to be told that three of our choices weren’t available was very disappointing to say the least. Being new to Amesbury we had hoped that The George would become our regular ‘local’ but unfortunately our first dining experience there wasn’t what we had hoped for.
