"Good and bad"

I had a table booked for my 60th birthday celebration with 7 friends and family. 2 of the party had Caesar salad which was very poor and not worth £20. I loved my meal, the Waldorf tart. The other meals were mussels which looked good, steak ciabatta which was ok and a ploughman’s which was distinctly average. The hotel is absolutely stunning and we have eaten here in the past and loved it. Hence choosing it for my birthday. I was made aware they were having problems as they had no gas and the menu would be limited but I’m not sure that explains the standard of the food.
