The Manor Coastal Hotel & Inn, Blakeney

"Stunning Location & Great Service "

My wife and I stayed at the Blakeney Manor for a short break last October and enjoyed the stay. This time we brought along our daughter and granddaughter, staying in two adjoining double rooms. Both rooms were well appointed and in the main hotel building, which was handy, considering the inclement weather. We booked a table in the bar for the evening meal and experienced a nice atmosphere, rather than in the slightly impersonal main restaurant. The food was tasty, with reasonable portion size and service was good. But I did speak to the staff about our granddaughter’s chicken goujons off the children’s menu. They were very spicy and she didn’t like them. My wife and I tried them too and didn’t like them either. In my opinion, most children would prefer plan and simple goujons, rather than hot and spicy. The only other thing in the bar that I didn’t like, was that it was cash only. I realise that a lot of younger people prefer this, but being of the older generation I hate this headlong rush towards a cashless society. We all had a reasonable night’s sleep and the breakfasts were excellent, cooked fresh and very tasty. But lack of hash browns on the menu was a source of minor disappointment to us all!! The checkout process was smooth and all the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. My wife and I are booked into the Blakeney Manor again in the Autumn, which shows how much we rate the hotel. Last time we stayed, a short walk took us to the bus stop on the main road, where we used our bus passes on the Coastal Hopper for days out at Sheringham and Cromer. The fabulous Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary at West Runton is a short drive away, with Felbrigg National Trust also close. Felbrigg has the best walled garden we have ever been to, marvellous walks and great tours of the hall.
