The Jamaica Inn, Bolventor

"disappointed"

Not the special experience we had hoped for. Most of the ratings were irrelevant as ordering was at the bar, a disappointing start, something you would expect at a Brewers Fayre for example. The carvery was of poor quality. The beef tough, as was the yorkshire, pudding. A steak knife would probable have managed it. The beer (I cannot remember the name but it was named for the restaurant) tasted watery. The write-up gave the impression of a special occasion but sadly it was far from it. With the history of the hotel I expected it to be busy so booked three weeks early to avoid disappointment. Had a much better experience at a pub local to where we were staying.
