The Jamaica Inn, Bolventor

"Lovely venue but very disappointing overall experience"

We travelled quite some distance to visit this "destination" pub for late lunch (3pm) We were careful to check the website beforehand to see if there was anything to be aware of. I;d been previously and took my Mum who was very keen to visit the farm and gift shop. We arrived, had lunch and then went to go to the shops.....to find that they closed at 4pm.

The duty manager kindly let us into the gift shop but the farm shop was already closed up. My Mum had been looking forward to browsing, and purchasing, from both shops at her leisure.

It's not beyond the wit of man to put opening hours on the website, and to have a sandwich board at the entrance to people know they need to shop before they eat.

Put such a downer on a much-anticipated visit. Shame as the food and service was actually very good.
