The Jamaica Inn, Bolventor

"Evening meal / good and bad "

My girlfriend and I visited last night for an evening meal, the service was 10/10 with a good menu and drink selection.

I opted for the lamb special of the day but was told that they had just run out, this is absolutely fine since it was an 8pm booking so could be expected.

I instead opted for the Jamaica Inn burger and my girlfriend opted for the Horseshoe gammon steak.

The burger was very nice but I did bite into a sharp fragment of bone which I have now realised to have chipped my tooth.

The gammon steak was unlike gammon either of us have ever tasted and I would say was almost identical to that of back bacon.

I did raise the bone issue with our server to which they apologised and stated that it had never happened before and that they would check other burgers for any issues.

Other than the negatives, the atmosphere of the restaurant, the attentiveness of the server and general welcoming vibe was very much appreciated.

The food front was a slight disappointment but this would not put me off returning again in hopes that it could have just been an off night / fault of suppliers.
