"Disappointing "

Very exited to stay here as we have passed it a few times and wanted to stay here. We ore checked in and Arrived just after 8pm, and turned out pre checking in was utterly pointless as we had to essentially do it all again in person anyway. It all seemed chaotic and staff purely trained and inefficient.
We got to the room and the room was excellent, clean good facilities nice bathroom etc.
We then went down to the bar and restaurant for evening meal, which was poor. Food average at best chain pub std, service at both restaurant and bar was slow inefficient. Good real ale at bar would have had more but just took far to long to serve customers and it wasn’t particularly busy , no table service for drinks whilst eating , ended up just going back to our room.
Breakfast ok but items not getting topped up pastries bread etc, service slow and staff just complain about how busy they were, and it was like 20% full.
Better trained and more staff would improve this place greatly.
Checking out was better as seemed like it was someone who actually new what they were doing and and enjoyed their work.
