The Crown Hotel, Boroughbridge

"Much effort made to make an appealing hotel to stay at."

The staff were all cheerful and helpful. The room was clean, well decorated and our request before the visit for feather pillows was fulfilled. The only issues were the room ( no 36) size that didn’t allow a bedside table and the room picking up the noise of traffic due to it being a front corner room. We had stayed at the Crown early last Autumn and had a meal which was marred by the restaurant’s popularity in that having sat down to eat at 6.30pm didn’t get out until 8.30 due to it being busy.
This time my wife had a problem choosing a meal that didn’t contain cheese in the potato options resulting in her having to choose chips. The meals we had were well presented but not quite what my wife wanted.
The noticeable change from last Autumn to this visit was how quiet the restaurant was. We discussed this and concluded that the price of drinks are too expensive. In Yorkshire the call is OW MUCH! There was an eating establishment just over the road which seemed to be ‘heaving’ with many people sitting outside drinking.
