The Crown Hotel, Boroughbridge

"Service"

We have stayed at the Crown hotel on many occasions over the years both overnight stays and several days. We have always been more than satisfied with both our accommodation and dining experiences.

On this occasion (overnight 9 July and overnight 14 July ) we couldn’t believe the difference in the level of service. Ladies on reception were as usual extremely polite and very welcoming. The dining room however was most disappointing. The food at dinner was excellent as usual but the service left a lot to be desired. One young lady tried her best but it was obviously there was a staffing problem.

At breakfast both mornings there were no bowls for cereal and the poor young girls trying their best had to go and wash some before we could have cereal. If fact on the morning of 15th we had to wait for nearly 15 minutes to get cereal bowls AND side plates. Again two very pleasant young girls trying their best. I felt very sorry for them.

What has happened since Coaching inn has taken over? From running very efficiently under the old regime it now appears to be limping along.

We are very sad to report all this . We do not believe in trashing a place on Tripadvisor so would welcome your comments .
