"Very disappointing "

Booked for a birthday meal. Communication when booking wasn’t great. Booked online and had to call to chase confirmation of booking despite online saying they would call within 48 hours. Also had to chase confirmation of the preorder they requested. All 9 meals were very disappointing. Overcooked food and tiny portions for the price. Haven’t dined here for a while but alarm bells started when the restaurant was closed on a Friday night and the bar where we ate was dead. Most of the party had to order food on the way home. Such a shame. Staff were friendly and can’t fault them but the food and atmosphere was just poor. What has happened? This used to be a great venue for high quality food. Considering we preordered I can’t fathom why the dishes were so poor?! Would not return anytime soon.
