"Staff were excellent but noisy function room too close to bedrooms"

We were there on the night of 23rd December, so we did not expect it to be quiet, but there was a noisy party in the function room that was only drowned out by a couple arguing outside our bedroom, as she (apparently) was lying in the corridor drunk and wouldn't get up to move to the bedroom. This saga went on for quite some time, and doesn't bode well for their Christmas, or indeed their relationship. Not the fault of the the staff, but was not conducive to a peaceful night's sleep. Dinner was OK, but nothing special. We had dogs with us, so we had breakfast in the restaurant area of the pub rather than the room generally used for breakfast. Service again was good, but the breakfast was more lukewarm than hot. Very busy time of year, and I do understand that bringing the breakfast out to us may have caused this.
