Beautiful building and location, lovely and warm and welcoming in cold February and excellent free parking.
The service was ok but no milk or sugar delivered with the pots of tea.
The afternoon tea sandwiches were pre made and kept in the fridge so very cold and should be at room temperature and fresh made in my opinion, because of this the cucumber sandwiches were squashed and soggy, yuk! We couldn't decide whether one sandwich was egg or cheese! It was egg but smeared so lightly over the bread that there was almost no filling at all! The hands sandwiches were good but all in all either very dry, soggy or too cold.
It was a cake overload and the scones were dry and extremely over baked , not light and fluffy at all. I couldn't eat mine.
This is the second time we have had afternoon tea in this establishment but there wont be a third sadly.
We were not offered unlimited tea this time which was greatly needed to wash down the dryness.
This experience wouldn't have been cheap as it was a Christmas gift voucher from our daughter.
