"Afternoon Tea "

All in all not good. Arrived 10 minutes early table not ready (that’s our fault) but no drink offered whilst we waited. Seated at table and offered hot drinks but we wanted a soft drink first. Drinks took nearly 15 minutes to arrive (it wasn’t busy) then the afternoon tea came 20 mins later. It looked lovely but that’s about it. No explanation as to what was on the stands (they did check whether we had allergies) and no menu to look at for it. Sandwiches were lovely but had hardly any filling in them - just at the edge! Scones were really nice, cake selection was all bought in cakes and not nice at all. The chocolate marmalade thing in the cup with squirty cream was vile! We had to ask for drinks refills, then for hot drinks and then for the bill where they added service charge. They did remove it when we asked. What wasn’t good was the table next to us had an ant on their stand crawling over their cakes. All the manager could say was “it’s the time of year” erm no it’s not! Overall wouldn’t return. Expensive for what you get and l service really not good.
