The Castle of Brecon Hotel, Brecon

"Nice food, service including front of house needs to improve"

When we arrived we stood to the side of the bar to speak to someone to be seated. The young looking bar tender saw us, a guest (or his friend, as they both looked as young as each other and maybe they knew each other) also motioned to him that we were standing there and he smirked with the guest, started laughing under his breath and ignored us. Terrible first impressions, unprofessional and I would've left if there were more restaurants around open at that time. However the waitress (Santi I think her name was) was really friendly, booked us in and was professional. The food was nice but service very slow, staff not around, seemed haphazard,other guests looked bemused and we did all make comments about the odd service. I did not think it was worth the price we paid unfortunately
