"Dont stay in Room 57"

If you are given the key to Room 57, give it back and ask for another room. Its sold as a classic double but is more like a single room space wise, with minor facilities but they are still charging £110 a night as per the other classic doubles.
This room has an industrial extractor fan attached to the wall approx 1/2 meter from the bed where the pillows and your head are. It’s switched on from 6.22am till gone 10pm. It’s extremely loud with the window open and the smell of fat comes into the room. Yes, the sound is less with the window closed but then the room is boiling hot, the small fan provided was not helpful.
Other issues with the room are that the toilet is so close to the heated shower rail that you can barely sit on the seat, if that was on you would undoubtedly be burnt. The seat is also loose. The hanging string for the light has no weight on the pull cord and be careful with the shower as comes from the bath taps, which means no pressure and getting a constant temperature is impossible. An electric shower is needed. The only mirror is the bathroom one so nowhere to plug straighteners in or use hairdryer and look in mirror. The TV switched itself on at 6.45am each morning, luckily i was already awake thanks to the 6.22am extraction fan wake up call!
It was so awful, I did request to be moved but no other rooms were available. The manager wasn’t available but I did speak to him on the phone. All he could offer was £20 a night discount, making the room cost £90 a night, it wasnt worth that at all. I visited on Royal Welsh week meaning no other accommodation was available in the area, if it had of been I would have booked somewhere else and had a full refund.
Sue who was working in the breakfast room was the only good thing about this hotel, she was friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately i would say AVOID!!
