"Disappointing Birthday Lunch"

We had a meal for 15 guests at the hotel booked in advance. Firstly email communication was poor trying to organise the meal. I was asked to submit our meal choices ahead of the event which we did. Again delay in acknowledgement of our email. On the day the 2 waitresses worked hard to serve us. But the food was generally disappointing and 3 guests had sandwiches which were particularly poor. Cheap sliced white bread which wasn’t even fresh and a few salad leaves for £9 was a rip-off. Despite having given choices a week in advance it took some time to serve all of us so those receiving food first was going cold whilst the rest of us waited. The fish and chips and burgers were fine. Despite a beautiful website and flashy brochure this experience did not live up to expectations
