"Good meals, but low on options & no hot breakfast"

We booked for dinner. The main disappointment was that several menu options weren't available. The restaurant was low on salad -- initially unable to fulfill our order, and the menu was confusing leading us to believe that we could order anything from the menu, but in reality some items weren't actually available.

The food that did arrive was tasty though! And our server was very patient and friendly.

We were also here for breakfast -- booked as part of our stay. We paid extra for this as part of the room. The morning of (rather than when we checked in!?), we were informed that there were no hot options available! That was hugely disappointing. We ended up paying £15 just to choose from tiny cereal boxes. We ended up going somewhere else instead. I feel like the hotel should have offered us a refund on that booking, as a hot breakfast was certainly expected.
