The Forest Park Country Hotel & Inn, Brockenhurst

"Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience"

The food was delicious and the ambience was lovely. As there was a private function in the restaurant, we were placed in The Inn, which was still very pleasant. The service was, on the whole, excellent, and the food was delicious. We only had two minor complaints. Firstly, the service was a little slow at times, and we had several servers, which made it less easy to establish any rapport with a server. Also, our Starters arrived before our wine, which was not acceptable for an establishment of this type. We recognised that the restaurant was exceptionally busy, but this was a basic mistake. Secondly, at no point were we informed that the Steak attracted a surcharge. This was not specifically mentioned when booking for dinner, when arriving for dinner, when ordering our Mains or on the menu. This is poor form. In the Reservation, it does mention that some items attract a surcharge, but this should have been made clear when we ordered the Steak. Notwithstanding, we loved the whole experience (Indulge and Unwind DB&B) and will come back in the future.
