"Not so nice meal"

Booked the restaurant for our 1st night stay online which was easy to do and quick confirmation. The restaurant had been busy at lunchtime as it was Father’s Day. On arrival for our evening meal we where shown to our table and drink order taken, she then returned for our food order, starter arrived quickly but was disappointed we both had Tartuffe which was only just warm and cold in the middle had been microwave and then placed under a grill I would say,the bread was cut in large chunks and was slightly dry
Main course arrived again quickly after stater and eventually the bottle of wine arrived. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was lovely, I had ordered the chickpea and spinach coconut curry which was as thin as water you need a spoon to eat it, I mixed in the rubbery rice with little effect on the thin sauce, I then found two whole star anise in the sauce (normally taken out was item has been cooked), I then tried the nan bread which was slightly burned on the edge and not cooked on the centre so gave up on the meal.
Nice young waitress ask if something was wrong with the meal apologise and said she would get one of the mangers.the manager then informed me that she had eaten the curry earlier and it was fine not the best form of customer service, but did say she would not charge for the curry, when the bill arrive still had the curry on the bill, waitress went to her again and it was eventful take off the bill they then even added 10% service charge I didn’t remove this as the young waitress was very polite and helpful , as someone who travels a lot and stays and eats in hotel restaurants often this felt like eating in a chain basic restaurant
