The Forest Park Country Hotel & Inn, Brockenhurst

"Food was lovely but overall a true disappointment on this occasion…"

We were a party of 5 meeting up for lunch and we were returning to The Forest Park as we had always had a lovely experience both food and service. We had expected to eat in the restaurant but the staff preferred us to eat in the bar area today. Not a huge problem for us but from then onwards the service wasn’t up to the normal standard that we have always experienced and come to expect. A real shame. Our reservation was for 12:30 so when we had just gathered at 12:05 and the waiter asked it we were ready to order we did ask for a little more time while we had a coffee. She did not return til nigh on 1pm and from then the service didn’t improve. Needless to say we removed the service charge from the tab before settling our bill. Such a shame when the kitchen staff produce such superb food. We won’t be returning.
