"Not as good as when visited previously "

Booking was efficient and I commented on the booking that we were celebrating my husband's birthday....no acknowledgement of that at all during our visit,made me wonder whether comments are ever noted.
The server was pleasant, we ordered drinks, not brought out together, I had to wait around 20 mins whilst they went to the cellar to fetch some gin!
My husband eats a vegan diet,but does not expect loads of choices. The one vegan dish was unavailable, as was the roast beef and a fish dish. The menu is not extensive to start with.
He was offered a substitute dish off their regular menu, and although nice was in no way a good replacement for a lentil and root vegetable wellington on the Sunday menu.
Overall the atmosphere felt stressed, although not overly busy.
It was expensive for the standard of food, £84 for 2 mains and very small desserts, inc £10.50 for a glass of house wine, service also added.
Previously when we visited we have felt served,which makes so much difference. This time we wished we had gone somewhere else.
It's a lovely building, Conwy is beautiful but The Castle you need to up your game
