The George Hotel, Dorchester

"Wholly adequate but not overly exciting"

Not a wildly imaginative menu, we had the pie of the day and the cauliflower satay salad. The pie was tasty but small, the mash felt like it was re-heated, the green veg was fine. The cauliflower satay was OK but my dinner partner left most of the noodles. The Bakewell sundae was generous but had too much ice cream not enough Bakewell.
The cocktails were well made despite the young bar person admitting to only recently being able to make them. I had a Billionaire Martini and a Squashie. Lovely surroundings, attentive staff, good service and relaxed atmosphere. Good selection of beers, gins and cocktails. Probably more of a 3.75/5.
