The George Hotel, Dorchester

"So Disappointing!"

I went to the George for lunch with my husband and daughter. It should have been a special day but the service was poor and food was worse. We waited 40 minute for our drinks and when they eventually came, the order was wrong and the drinks had obviously been standing around: my husband’s cappuccino was no longer frothy, my coke had no fiz and they had forgotten my daughter’s drink. My chicken missed the coleslaw in the description, and my husband’s ploughman’s pot was just horrid. The drinks only came after two softly worded reminders to the manager: he gave us a discount but we would have much rather had a nice meal! The food was not fresh and all seemed pre-processed. We won’t be coming back - and we were so disappointed.
