The George Hotel, Dorchester

"Saturday Lunch today 30.11.24"

How disappointed I bought a friend for lunch we had fish and chips The fish batter fish was so hard ,told by waitress that now made with Gluton flour why ? It did not say this on the menu surely the chef can make two types of batter ? The chips were dry and tasted as if they had been heated up .The restaurant was not busy but long nearly3/4 hour wait to be served ,we had booked and were on time. We didn’t stay for desert or coffee . The food especially the fish and chips used to be good. So sad as beautiful setting .The bar was packed but very short staffed .Plenty of places to eat in Dorchester so the George needs to up it’s game
