The Saracens Head Hotel, Pub & Restaurant, Great Dunmow

"Great start to our holiday "

We had a one night stay before heading out to Cyprus the following day from Stansted.
Never having visited before or familiar with the coaching inns group, we didn't know what to expect after booking through booking.com.
What a pleasant surprise we got! The hotel is spotlessly clean and fresh despite the age of the building. The decor is tasteful, and again, in keeping with the history of the area .
All the staff were lovely, very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Some nice personal touches in our room, an addressed envelope contained info regarding our stay, not all gathered together in a dusty folder, and we had a hand written note from housekeeping wishing us a nice stay as well 🥰. If there has to be a negative about our stay, the evening menu was a bit limited, not what we were expecting after checking out the menu on line. Having said that , we completely get why the menu was reduced to just a few dishes; mid week isn't the busiest of times, and hospitality has already had the hardest of struggle to come through the other side after the last few years.
