"Lovely location"

Lovely location. Welcomes dogs and children and great outdoor space. We had a bar meal in the Rum & tin Pickle which was pre-booked online. Having eaten there several times last year we expected the same good service and food but unfortunately we felt the standards have slipped. Despite having highlighted we had two gluten intolerant individuals in our party when booking the choice was extremely limited and there were no gluten free baps to go with the very good burgers. Unfortunately one of our party had to return his steak meal because he found it inedible and also the pancake desserts were very poor. The service was extremely slow and with two young boys long waits for mains and dessert was trying. When a glass was broken nobody came to help with picking up the glass. Nobody seemed in charge. I suggest the hotel needs an efficient bar manager who is keeping on top of things. The bar was not busy yet it took ages for dessert to be served and a second glass of wine never materialised. I really don’t want to be too critical but I do think that there are a lot of improvements to be made.
