The Feathers Hotel, Eatery and Coffee House, Helmsley

"Food good - but a disappointing dining experience."

We booked our early evening table online, the booking system allocated us a 2 hour slot. However as soon as we sat down we were told abruptly it would be just 1 hour 45 minutes as the waitress needed time to wipe down the table and they expected to be busy later (only 1 other set of diners in our dining room as we eat).
So we hurried to make our selections then couldn’t find a staff member to take our order. Eventually we ordered and the food when it arrived was good, although we had to chase up the whereabouts of the gravy!
Unfortunately, because of the time restriction placed on us we didn’t have time for coffee or dessert so our evening out was spoiled by poor service and needing to rush. We had only 5 minutes to spare before the end of our allocated time slot.
We went elsewhere to finish our evening out. The food is too expensive if you can’t relax and enjoy your evening.
