"Mostly good."

So mostly in our party of six it was all positives. Some negatives that hopefully they can take on the chin and move on from. Two of us had the AR burger with bacon and cheese etc. £17 each they were awful. Dry burger, well overcooked tough bacon, tiny burgers, all in all one star for those. Gammon for one was so overcooked it would have been useful to fill a hole in a shoe. Three had fish. One said five stars on the Plaice, one said four stars on the bass, and one said two stars on the fish and chips. Why I asked? Fish and chips were swimming in oil; kind of embarrassing tbh.

Starters were average, nothing great but at the same token, nothing to complain about.

Sweets were also okay, again nothing to write home about, but not hinging really to say anything against.

£3.80 for a pint of cola with enough ice in to sink the titanic was tbh a bit of an insult. Between us we spent £30 on cola. Poor personified tbh. Less ice and more cola would help elevate that criticism. Just shy of £300 for six of us; would I rush to return? Absolutely not. Where were were seated in upholster (tired) chairs, the seating was filthy dirty. Stained and not even vacuumed off prior to sitting. We were all wearing best clothes, it was a special occasion. All of us felt a lot more unclean after leaving than when we arrived. For goodness sake Mr or Mrs Manager, get a cleaning company in to sort the upholstery out!

So there we are; no doubt should anyone at the AR ever read this they will probably just say "ahh well, can't please everyone all of the time.' But honestly; for the price and the special occasion it really should have been a lot lot better.
