"Relaxed atmosphere both in the Dining Room and after in the Lounge - 3 courses £45/head incl drinks."

Given we're in the supposed food capital of Yorkshire, the pie of the day was Pork & Apple, not much evidence of a taste of apple and mixed in with the pork chunks looked like slightly pinker chunks of the ham hock terrine I'd had for a starter. Pie pastry was really good though as were the thick cut chips. 'Seasonal vegetables' included Charentais/baby carrots and sugar snaps (this is late December in the North so very nicely done but not quite sure which season was being celebrated). Local Yorkshire white wine wasn't available sadly. Desserts were very good (Creme Brulee and Sticky Toffee Pudding are highly recommended) and the service was also attentive without being intrusive which made for a pleasant evening's dining. Reasonable value at the price, so will come again.
