The Talbot Country House Hotel, Malton

"Excellent food - let down by a few details..."

We stayed in the hotel for two nights and ate in the bar on both occasions. The food was wonderful - lots of depth to the flavours and just the right portion size to allow room for dessert.
The bar area is starting to look a little tired in places - nothing that a lick of paint wouldn't resolve. More disappointing were the entries on the menu that were not available (including salmon at breakfast) and the bar ran out of both vodka (for a cocktail) and the red wine we wanted to order. I think there are stock control improvements to be made !
Service was good.
