"Pleasant afternoon tea in comfortable setting "

Enjoyed afternoon tea in a pleasant and historic setting . We were given the choice of the lounge, or dining room , but people had spread out in the lounge , so we chose the restaurant . Maybe a choice could be offered in advance, when booking and a table reserved . We ordered tea and coffee, which arrived quickly , but we waited about 15 minutes for the afternoon tea to arrive, so it had been drunk by then, or would have gone cold. The sandwiches were very good, also the freshly baked scones and cakes . We asked for another tea and coffee, so we would gave something to drink with the meal . The waitress said she had to sort a bill first, then would get it. She never came back to us, hence we asked the helpful lady on reception nearby . The restaurant was quiet at the time. We enjoyed the old worlde ambiance of the hotel and thought it had been sympathetically restored.
