"Good food done well"

We visited for Sunday lunch to celebrate my father's 89th Birthday. The staff made a fuss over him and discounted his meal which was nice. The front of house staff were very good but, considering the restaurant wasn't particularly busy, they were let down by the kitchen who took 10 minutes from sending out the plates with our meat and potatoes to sending out the vegetables ( also with 5 of us dining why only give 4 heads of broccoli?). However, the food was excellent and while not the cheapest meal out, I thought it was good value (when compared to similar venues locally).
