The Talbot Country House Hotel, Malton

"Good Food, Patchy Service "

The Talbot is relatively local and a place we enjoy so when an opportunity came up to go again we booked.
Food was good, we shared a breadboard and then had the Stone Bass and a duo of lamb. Both main course were very tasty and freshly prepared arriving piping hot.
Service was pleasant when we got some but there were long gaps when there was none.
We asked for dessert menus, none arrived and after 15 minutes we gave up and paid the bill.
There seemed to be an event elsewhere in the hotel and I think staff were on this too.
