"Not as expected"

Sadly, the much anticipated dinner wasn't up to scratch. Service went missing frequently - is it OK for staff to leave the restaurant for 10-20 mins whilst making themselves milkshakes? Neighbouring tables had their orders mixed up meaning some diners were finished before others got their mains. Obviously an 'off night' for the staff.

The starters were good but the mains were not, these were not as described on the menu, full of dressing which didn't go with the sauce, and a lot of grease. This was addressed by the Duty Manager so that aspect was promising. I also noticed later that the starters were charged at the Day menu rate and not the rate on the evening menu which is published and left in room. Not sure why you would charge more during the day for the same item but seems everyone was being charged the more expensive day menu rates. Overall, not the best experience for us.
