"Surprised"

We had a light lunch, my wife and I had the small fish and chips which I believe were 14.95, as I was driving we both had lime and soda, when I was handed the bill I saw the sodas were 1.50 each and I noticed the total was around 35.90, I paid the bill without thinking, I also changed a note and left a cash tip, when I got into the car I was thinking something was amiss, but we had to leave as we were bowling. It seems our bill should have been £32.90 so it was £3 over, I wonder if a service charge was added without my knowledge as I never add it on my card, I always give it to staff in cash. If that is the case I am quite unhappy. It isn't the amount, but the principle even more so when I also gave our server a cash tip as well.
