"Don’t take cash!!!!!!!!"

I attended on 11/7/24 with my Mum, Dad and brother as a birthday surprise for my Dad. We ate in the restaurant. I booked online.
The waitress service and food was good. I came to pay and was told you don’t take cash!!!!!
This is not (to my knowledge displayed on your website) and I was not told you do not accept cash on being seated.
As I was dining I did not attend the bar as the waitress took our drinks orders.
When I attempted to play with cash I was told there are signs on the bar. Not very useful if you do not even visit the bar!
I am visiting my family from Australia and for every credit card transaction I do, I am slugged with international transaction fees, and as I was leaving the uk the next day I wanted to use all of my cash before departure.
To my embarrassment my brother paid for the food with his card and I handed him the cash.
Please sort this out. Get wait staff to tell people up front “no cash’ and display this prominently on your web site please.
I do understand that post Covid many people no longer pay cash………. But some people do.
Next time I visit my family in Oswestry and take them out for a meal I will be going elsewhere.
