"Disappointing anniversary meal"

We were married at the Wynnstay Hotel 3 years ago, so decided that it would be nice to go there for dinner on our anniversary. On arrival we were shown to our table and handed some menus and the young waitress then came back and took our order. We ordered starters and a main course and a bottle of wine. The wine was brought to our table, and just left with us, the screw cap was still on the bottle, we were not offered the chance to taste the wine and it was not poured for us. The starters arrived very quickly, these were nice but nothing special, the caramelised onions on my husband's starter were in huge chunks and not very caramelised! We were half way through eating our starters when a waitress arrived with our mains. Her first words were "who is having steak" - we said we are still eating our starters. She took the main meals back to the kitchen. They came back to clear the starter plates and then re brought out the main meals. I was having the steak, which by this time was dried up, and it was served with some sort of tomato and onion salad with rocket. This salad was dreadful, large chunks of onion, and the rocket was limp and soggy. We decided not to risk a dessert, so we ordered a coffee which was fine. The whole time we were there we felt rushed, that we were being served as quickly as possible to get us out of there. We overheard guests at another table asking if they could have 15 minutes rest before their main meals were served and they were told that the kitchen were stopping cooking soon. Our table was booked at 7:30, and by 9pm we were back home. Very disappointing - we will not be rushing back!
