"Underwhelming "

We had visited The Talbot restaurant a few times and expected another positive experience. I’m not usually one to write reviews either… Went on Mother’s Day for the 2 course menu and it was very overpriced for what it was. My sister ordered the Edamame Salmon Salad, which with the offer meant she was paying £35 for that and a dessert. The salmon was unseasoned, and the salad just consisted of a bag of leaves put on the plate with the salmon on top. The rest of the food was underwhelming for the prices, the potatoes were cold and hard and the meat was over cooked. It took us about half an hour to get our order taken despite there only being about 5 other tables in the restaurant. The staff kindly took off a small chunk of money for the salmon meal but the bill was still very overpriced for what it was. Such a shame because it is a beautiful restaurant but the food and overall experience was just a bit disappointing and we won’t be visiting again.
