"Disappointing"

The Kings Head is a lovely hotel, but the service and quality of food in the restaurant was disappointing. The room was clean, and well equipped, but the bathroom sink was blocked and water drained away very slowly. There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe, but the iron did not work because the temperature control dial had been removed, so when I switched it on, it defaulted to the maximum setting. I was told that this is always happening, because customers are confused about where to put the water . If so, why are there no instructions about where to put the water in the iron, and a warning that the temperature control dial should not be removed.
Prior to the visit, I tried to book a table for dinner online. The meal deal was being pushed very hard, but it turns out that the meal deal is not good value for money, because it is cheaper to choose 3 courses from the menu. If you choose the meal deal in advance without actually seeing the menu, there is no way to change your mind. I chose steak (rare), but it was like leather. There were hardly any gluten-free options on the menu. I was told the soup was gluten free by the waitress, so I ordered this, but it came with normal bread, which was replaced, when I asked about it, but the message that I required gluten free options did not reach the kitchen. There was a compulsory service tip added to the menu, but this was not clear, or mentioned anywhere. All together, very disappointing! Could definitely do better.......
