"Our second bad experience"

After a disappointing meal of over-cooked pasta pre-pandemic, we returned for a special lunch with friends in the hope of a better experience.
I can't fault the decor and ambience of the restaurant, and our waitress was both attentive and efficient.
We were a party of four, and we all ordered different meals, three of which were very good indeed. However, although my partner ordered the last portion of squid as a main course, it was served with the other starters. She sent it back, but when it returned with the main courses it was warm on the outside and cold in the middle. Our helpful waitress took it back and promised a fresh portion, but the same dish (which my partner had previously cut open) returned reheated. She declined to eat it and, due to her strict dietary needs, was unable to choose an alternative. As a result, she had only a side of salad and chips in place of her lunch. The waitress apologised and we were not charged, but it ruined the occasion for her.
Sadly, we won't be returning.
