"Champagne Afternoon Tea"

I was given a voucher for a champagne afternoon tea for 2 for my 70th birthday.
When I went to use it I found out it had expired. (I didn't realise they only last for 6 months)
I rang the White Horse in Romsey and they contacted their head office, who said they would honour it until 31st August.
My friends were visiting from Spain so I booked a table for 3 on Monday 12th August at 3.30pm.
We arrived and I handed my voucher in and we ordered 2 Champagne teas and 1 classic as one person was driving.
On no account was i informed there was a price increase on my voucher or that it was not champagne but prosecco.
We placed our order (and found out then it was prosecco) and the teapots arrived.
The Prosecco arrived and my friend was given her glass and mine toppled of the tray onto the table smashing the glass and I ended up with a lapful of prosecco,
It took 2 waitresses to clear the mess and reset the table with clean cutlery and crockery and napkins. I went to the ladies to wash my dress and was given a tea towel to try to keep me dry.
I was then served my glass of prosecco.
Our tea arrived and we continued with our meal. It was disappointing that we only had a choice of ham and mustard, egg mayonnaise and cheese and pickle for sandwiches. I half expected smoked salmon as a choice as it was supposed to be a champagne tea.
When we finished I visited the ladies and my friend went to pay for the extra tea.
I only found out later that there was an increase for my champagne tea and a service charge for the whole meal.
Considering the service we received I would not have paid it.
A very disappointing afternoon birthday tea celebration.
