The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell

"Great location ,very helpful & friendly staff."

We had an 80th birthday celebration weekend with 15 of our family, 11 of which stayed at the hotel for 2 nights . We made late cancellations and last minute room changes and the hotel managed them without any fuss . The staff were friendly and professional from Harmony and Dave on reception to Liam and Adam who seemed to be everywhere all the time . The rooms were perfect and very well presented and clean. In the interest of fairness , We had a birthday dinner for 15on the Saturday night and this got mixed reviews I’m afraid, from “ best Humous I’ve ever had” to “tough meat” and my own main blade of beef dish was indeed tough and Luke warm . It was clear the hotel had a staff numbers challenge and while the team worked hard to ensure all was well , it showed at breakfast and in the bar . We would be happy to stay at the hotel angain and recommend it to friends. Thank you to all involved ,our 80 year old birthday girl had a wonderful weekend.
