The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell

"Great service and ambience"

Enjoyed an excellent birthday lunch here (mains and dessert free for the birthday person!). Food quality high and service is friendly and personable, without any of the stuffiness sometimes attributable to country hotels. The restaurant is very comfortable and beautifully furnished, and there are quiet corners in the lounge and bar area to sit and enjoy an aperitif or two. Menu is not extensive, but is thoughtful, with an appealing contemporary twist to most dishes. Prices are very reasonable for the location and service. Restaurant staff were lovely and polite.
