"Not as good as last time"

We had a superb meal with you two weeks ago and looked forward to our next visit.
Unfortunately the food was not on a par with the last one.
My cheese fritters were overcooked and the accompanying bacon chilli jam could only be described as mediocre and more like pickle from a jar.
The two fish and chips we had were disappointing. The fish was fine but the batter was soggy. My fishcake was bland and lacked sauce.
On the plus side the service and ambience was very good.
Our server did say that there was a different chef cooking that evening but it certainly let your pub down.
