"Shockingly poor "

The venue is attractive, decor nice and beautiful hanging baskets outside. Plenty of parking.

We ordered: Grilled Asparagus & Crispy Hen’s Egg, smashed pea, thyme & lemon dressing plus courgette fritters, which were starters, to have together as a main course and Smashed Chickpea & Squash Vegan Burger. The waitress repeated the order to confirm it was correct.

We received the 'courgette' fritters (which were very hard to cut and consisted mainly of another vegetable) but instead of the grilled asparagus we received asparagus and pea salad. We spoke to the waitress to highlight the missing egg (at that point we hadn't realised the whole dish was incorect) she took the dish away and went and spoke to the chef to see if we could have the egg added to it. She came back shortly after with the same dish and said that we couldn't have an egg on the dish because it was a side dish.

The burger was fine but not great.

I have never been to a restaurant where the chef has refused to provide a simple dish (a fried egg), but, more importanly, where there has been an error in delivery, not rectified the problem.

To top it all off there was an automatic service charge added to the bill.
