"Nice food but not the best service "

The nut roast was nice but it was nicer when we came earlier in the year, it has changed a lot inside since and looks lovely but the quality of the roast was definitely better before. However, the issues I had with our visit was that we'd booked at 10:30 in the morning for the same day online and when we arrived for our table in the afternoon they didn't have any record of the booking. We were told to sit in the bar whilst a table was sorted but this was frustrating seen as we had actually booked online and it was in before lunch service would have started so I presumed they'd refresh and print an updated list. The lady at the bar mentioned that the system doesn't send bookings through to them...to me that seems a silly system to then be using if it's ineffective. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated but weren't updated throughout whilst we waited at the bar. The lady at the bar spent most of the time huffing and moaning about things which I always find really unprofessional, you can do that in the back away from customers that are listening. She wasn't moaning about us and was polite to us but it just puts me off when staff seem annoyed at customers.
