"Family Birthday Celebration"

The food was lovely everyone felt they had made a good choice. However, because there was eleven of us we had to order in advance for our 6-8pm reservation in the restaurant.No one greeted us, er found our way to our reserved table,we had to get our drinks from the bar and starters arrived at 7pm, after clearing starters it was another 40 mins wait for the mains to appear even after preordering 48hrs before. After another long wait - nothing - we ordered drinks from the bar and when they arrived ordered desserts from the drinks waiter. These took another 35 mins to arrive .Desserts were OK but noticeably the sticky toffee pudding serving had been reduced by a good 70% since our previous visit it was very small and disappointing. Our family had travelled a long way to enjoy the evening but sadly it was marred by the lack of personal attention and long, long waits at every stage of the evening. Our waitress was very pleasant and tried to be helpful but was clearly up against the odds within the organisation.A shame the evening was spoilt by all the waiting and feeling ignored but the food was good. A long journey, a lot of effort at a lot of expense a special event- spoilt by too much waiting.
