"Excellent Food But…"
Booked on line with specific request not to be near dogs. Arrived on time barman serving, did not look up with a greeting. When he did ask if he could help me I gave him my name and said table reserved for 7 15 and gave my name. Is that a table for four he asked, no I replied for two. He then enquired as to which room we staying in, I said we were not residents. I was then shown to my table, next to a couple with a large dog, I pointed out this is specifically what I asked to be away from. However I was polite and did not make a scene and accepted the table. I was offered the restaurant but that was in total darkness, not very inviting. By now four further people had been seated with another dog. As to the table, it felt like sitting in a corridor not relaxing with staff back and forth serving food. Dogs barking and fidgeting. I cannot fault the food, but I just cannot understand why people want to take animals into places where food and drink is served, I think it is unhygienic and wrong. One final comment, the barman said when you book on line any specific requests are not passed on to evening staff. Rather concerning if you state you have a nut allergy or similar.
