The Swan Hotel, Stafford

"End of season dinner"

Not been to The Swan for dinner for about 7 years so was looking forward to it but was rather disappointed in it. The dining room was not busy but we were put between 2 other occupied tables which meant it was a bit cramped. The menu was limited but that's OK if the food is good & well presented. Our attendant was obviously not happy and came across rather surley. We had to wait a while for our starters but they were fine. Again we had to wait a while for our main courses. I had fish & chips. The fish was OK but the chips were very greasy and several were definitely "well done". We did not have dessert.
I found the evening disappointing
