The Swan Hotel, Stafford

"Disappointing quality of food and service, not to the high standard of the previous owners."

All three members of staff we encountered seemed indifferent, and this created an uncomfortable atmosphere. Service was slow, despite few diners. The two seafood linguine had very few small pieces of cod and salmon in a very heavy sauce, but no other fish; staff did give a refund when both diners complained. The chicken pie had little filling. The draught beer was warm. The vegan burgers and chips were OK, as was the chicken.
The desserts were good. And we did get a round table as requested, but it was very wobbly.
By the way, why was one member of front of house staff having her haircut during our meal? Spotted when one of the party went to the loo.
